...the manufacturers of contact lens solutions need to sit down and have a conversation ... namely, about the fact that while TSA limits liquids carried on board aircraft to 3 oz. containers, it is impossible to purchase "travel-sized" contact lens solution in bottles smaller than 4 oz. so far, this hasn't been a problem, so you might think i'm just being petty... but i can't help thinking that at some point, my contact lens solution is going to get confiscated [probably in Phoenix. they're bastards].
and, quite frankly, it's my blog and i can be as petty as i want.
despite all evidence to the contrary, i haven't completely forgotten that i have a blog. and i can't use the "i've been busy" excuse because, well, i hate that excuse. it's total crap. we're all busy. truth be told, blogging just hasn't been front of mind for me lately - but between the comments on my last post and the verbal nudges from my mom when i call home each weekend, this site is still bookmarked by at least a few people...
for them, then, a brief recap of the past several weeks. in february, tif and i took snowboarding lessons - our first was an hour with a private instructor - on our second attempt, we accepted our friend johnathan's offer to teach us and spent several hours on the bunny slopes of Mount Hood Meadows with him - a much more effective [and painful] approach. we both really, really enjoyed it and intend to go at least once more before the season ends [now that our various injuries seem to have healed]. there are a few pics up on flickr ... this one is courtesy of our [kinda creepy] instructor Wid:
Apart from the snowboarding adventures, life in portland has been pretty mellow. suzanne came for a visit over st patty's day weekend - an unexpected treat, she decided thursday and arrived friday evening - it was fun to see [ortland through the eyes of an old friend. [jess & tim are planning to visit in april - can't wait!]
craft-wise, i'm still MIA - i had signed up for carolyn's "our town" class on sbo but found myself not even in my town for much of march... three straight weeks of trips to minnesota, then vegas, then colorado springs. i swear, carolyn, i'll get on those tags soon.
i've become hooked on Lost and spend any down time i can find watching old episodes... i'm nearly done with season 1 and expect to be well into season 2 by the time i get back from Richmond, VA late thursday night.
and with that, boarding begins. check back again... i'm determined to post every day this week.
oh, and since you're already online anyway - check out these wicked cool shoes i got yesterday at imelda's and louie's.
