after my second knitting class [having spent the entire first one learning to cast on, knitting eight rows, and then taking it entirely apart], this is my progress so far...
it's definitely not perfect, but i think when it is done, i'm going to have a soft spot for this, my first scarf.
i am surprised at how much i enjoy this... i find it meditative and quiet, which is quite unlike me, actually. [part of this may be that i have discovered i can't talk and knit at the same time or i twist the stitches...]

Isn't it cool looking. Keep up the good work, girl. It will be done in no time.

Wow you are on your way to follow in the path of the stellar knitters/crocheters of your family. Now if you can just find all those knitting needles I must have sent....................
It was a wonderful weekend together. I will give your best to all the folks who join up on the 4th.

Mom: I know, I have got to look for those knitting needles! Have a wonderful time at Smiths and do tell the folks there I'm thinking of them. It really was a fantastic weekend... Love you.
